What is Hyperrealism Brows?Hyperrealism brows are a great option for people who want to enhance their brows but don’t want them looking too neat and tidy. Natural brow hairs are not always perfectly defined. The hairs are not always perfectly brushed through, they go in different directions, and they get tangled. Hyperrealism subtly recreates the look of real eyebrows but fills in the arches so they look lush and voluminous. So it’s the perfect treatment for people who like a casual, subtle look, and who generally don’t wear a lot of makeup. The result is a fabulous pair of enhanced, bespoke brows which complement your face and last for months, even years. How is it different than Microblading? We know – so far, this sounds just like microblading! But the effects of hyperrealism brows are much more, well, realistic than the results of microblading, which gives the look of neat, tidy brows, and perfect arches. With hyperrealistic brows, the point is to make the brows look as natural as possible by making them look bushier, messier, even tangled. In fact, some artists brand this treatment as “undone brows”. This effect is achieved by modifying the technique. Microblading is done with a manual tool, but hyperrealism brows are done with an electric machine that deposits pigments with maximum precision. The strokes of hyperrealism brows follow a different pattern than those of microblading so as to make them look as natural as possible. What’s more, the outline of hyperrealism brows is less defined. It has no sharp edges, so it looks softer and fluffier. How long do the results last? The results of hyperrealism brows start to look significantly faded about 9 months to a year after the initial treatment. The longevity of the results largely depends on your skin type and lifestyle, as certain activities and skincare products accelerate the fading of eyebrow PMU. You can prolong the results by booking a touch-up appointment.

What is Microblading?Microblading is a form of permanent makeup that creates natural, beautiful eyebrows with a handheld microblade. It’s perfect for people who have overplucked or those who want to define, darken or reshape their eyebrows. Technically, microblading is a form of eyebrow tattooing. However, unlike traditional tattooing, which uses a machine, microblading artists apply each hairstroke with a handheld microblade. This produces a very fine line that resembles real hair. Each individual hairstroke is hand drawn by the artist and blended in with the client’s existing eyebrow hair. With a strong artist at the helm, the results can be gorgeous and very lifelike. Microblading typically takes two appointments to complete. In the first appointment, the client is profiled and the eyebrows are drawn on with a brow pencil, so the artist and client can agree on the look. The artist then microblades the eyebrows and the client is ready to go back into the world. There are some pre-care and aftercare required, but your microblading should be completely healed in 30 days. The second appointment is a touch up at least 30 days after the first session, but we prefer to do it at 6-8 weeks. This allows enough time for the ink in the epidermis to naturally slough off, and the color to settle into your skin. In the touch up appointment, the artist can see how your skin has received the ink and make any necessary corrections.

What is Powder Brows?Powder eyebrows are a semi-permanent makeup technique that gives the eyebrows a misty, powdered effect, similar to wearing makeup. It is done by inserting pigment into the surface layers of the skin using a machine designed for cosmetic tattooing and the ‘dotting’ technique, or pixelization. The 2-step procedure consists of the initial insertion of the pigment, and a touch up about 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure.

How long does it lasts?Cosmetic tattooing is designed to fade over time. Factors such as skin type, lifestyle, age, metabolism, medications, and pigment color affect the longevity of the tattoo. The sun and some kinds of lighting (tanning beds) can affect the rate at which these pigments are broken down. To take care of your brows follow the aftercare instructions and touch-up your brows every 12-18 months (as needed). Touch-ups are normal and expected for Permanent Cosmetics. Please note that final results vary and CANNOT be guaranteed due to the nature of skin as it heals. A follow-up appointment is recommended at 6-12 weeks where we can assess your pigment retention and make any changes necessary.
-
Does it hurt? Most clients report little to no pain, and would compare it to a tweezing session. Many clients even fall asleep! Topical anesthetic is applied during the procedure so the client can feel at ease while receiving the treatment.
-
How long is the procedure?A microblading sessions consists of a consultation the day of, where we review your lifestyle and daily brow maintenance. We then map the brows according to your facial structure with the golden Phi ratio of balanced proportion. Once you approve the brow shape, the procedure takes about an hour. This entire session takes a total of 2h - 2h15min.
-
How long does it take to heal? You’ll be able to wear your new brows back to brunch! In the first 7-10 days, you’ll need to avoid getting them too wet (in the shower), working out (sweating) or wearing brow makeup.
